Fusing Artificial Intelligence with Unreal Engine 5 for Spatial Interaction

As digital displays and LED walls in public spaces, retail environments, and exhibitions grow larger, the interaction paradigms remain remarkably static. The challenge was to create a controller-free, highly immersive system that turns passive observers into active participants—without the friction of wearables, instructions, or noticeable latency.

The solution is a triad of custom hardware, proprietary translation logic, and high-fidelity real-time rendering: The POSOMAT AI CORTEX running the POSOPLAY Platform, debuting with the interactive module BASHBALL.

To achieve seamless body tracking without the limitations of traditional infrared sensors, the POSOPLAY platform was developed as a highly specialized interaction layer. It acts as the "magic canvas" connecting physical reality with digital environments.

Utilizing advanced 3D stereo cameras, POSOPLAY scans the physical environment, isolates human figures, and tracks complex skeletal data of up to 50 individuals simultaneously.

The Creative Engineering Process

This entire ecosystem is the result of a comprehensive, single-source development pipeline. From the initial concept and technical planning to game design, UI/UX, software implementation, and rigorous testing, the complete POSOPLAY architecture and BASHBALL module were developed and executed by Artist and Creative Hacker Dr. Jens M. Stober.
