ZKM Karlsruhe - Medienmuseum: Welt der Spiele
The Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe (ZKM) is regarded as biggest institution for media art in the world. In the local media museum you can find the Serious Game Frontiers by “goldextra” since the year 2010. It is located in the permanent exhibition “world of games” on the second floor. more
CeBIT 2012
At the CeBIT 2012 Jan Cordes and Jens M. Stober, students of media art at the University of Arts and Design Karlsruhe show in cooperation with the Karlsruhe young startup company "inreal Technologies GmbH", a specially developed work for the Virtual Reality. The two media artists were given the opportunity and the confidence to investigate the new technology of "inreal" in an artistic and demonstrative application at the IT-fair. Shown at the CeBIT in Hall 15 Stand A26 at inreal Technologies. CeBIT takes place from 06 To 10 March 2012 at the exhibition center Hanover.
Jan Cordes und Jens M. Stober focus on new technolgogies and produce content that pursue the goal to put the real technology in the background. Often the industry is generating content that pushes the technology straight into the foreground.
art KARLSRUHE 2012
Within the Game-Hommage “bargain-hunter” from Jan Cordes and Jens M. Stober, the players can buy works of art in the halls of the art KARLSRUHE. In the first-person-shopper-game, one has to buy with bundles of cash art in a hall of art KARLSRUHE. Not the maximum amount money is restricted, but time determines the game. Time is limited. Within that given time as many works of art must be bought by throwing bundles of money on them. Each work of art has its own specific price - the higher the more points. Another way the player is to sign the works with a thick felt-tip pen. This modification of the artwork can increase or decrease the value.
PLAYBEYOND Festival Karlsruhe
From 27th to 29th May 2011 the sity of Karlsruhe is host of the first international 3D festival. In addition to current trends and productions of stereoscopic films in cinema and television, as well as 3D gaming, BEYOND shows innovations in media, art installations and performances.
